Smart Fit Firmware Update Available
The Optoma GT2000HDR now supports Optoma’s new Smart Fit / Custom Screen Type firmware feature, created to help users achieve a better image fit on non-standard screens, including golf simulator impact screens and custom indoor simulator setups.
Optoma’s Custom Screen Type function allows you to add a custom resolution to the projector’s EDID table. This helps the projector and connected device better recognize your intended screen format, making it easier to fill unique screen sizes while reducing geometric distortion.
- Designed for custom screen setups: Helps improve image fit on non-standard screen sizes and aspect ratios.
- Useful for golf simulator rooms: Helps fill impact screens more effectively when the screen shape differs from standard home theater formats.
- Custom EDID resolution support: Allows a custom resolution to be added to the projector’s EDID table.
- Less image distortion: Helps reduce the need to stretch or force the image into an improper aspect ratio.
- Improved screen coverage: Helps maximize the projected image area while preserving better image clarity.
Firmware update requirements: A USB-A to USB-A cable and a Windows PC are required to complete the update.
Availability: Firmware can be downloaded through the Optoma product page or direct firmware link below.
