DOF Reality H6 6-Axis HERO Universal Motion Simulator Platform
Total motion freedom for the most realistic simulation experience on Earth.
Meet the DOF Reality H6 HERO Universal Motion Simulator, the flagship motion platform for elite sim pilots, drivers, and training professionals who demand nothing short of total immersion. With six degrees of freedom — Heave, Sway, Surge, Pitch, Roll, and Yaw — the H6 replicates the physical motion cues your body feels in a real aircraft or vehicle.
From vertical turbulence and sudden lift loss to banked turns, ground rumble, and lateral G-forces, the H6 recreates it all with precision. Whether you’re climbing through storm clouds in Microsoft Flight Simulator, performing aerobatic maneuvers in DCS World, or attacking curbs in Assetto Corsa Competizione, the H6 turns every scenario into a more true-to-life experience.
Engineered with professional-grade actuators, an intelligent motion control system, and an ultra-stable chassis, this is one of the most advanced consumer-accessible 6DOF platforms available for serious home, hybrid, and training simulator environments.
Product Features
Six Degrees of Freedom (6DOF) Explained

The H6 replicates all the natural motion cues the human body experiences during movement. Each axis provides its own type of force feedback, combining into a seamless physical experience.
| Axis | Description | Experience |
|---|---|---|
| Pitch | Forward/backward tilting | Feel steep climbs, dive descents, take-offs, braking, or acceleration |
| Roll | Side-to-side tilt | Experience banking turns, cornering, or turbulence during flight |
| Yaw | Rotational movement | Simulates rudder control, oversteer drifts, or spin maneuvers |
| Heave | Vertical motion | Sense lift, bumps, or turbulence as your aircraft or car rises and falls |
| Sway | Side-to-side translation | Feel crosswinds, corner grip loss, or lateral G-forces |
| Surge | Forward/backward translation | Simulates acceleration, deceleration, or shifting weight transfer |
Each axis is powered by independent, high-torque actuators, creating smooth, real-time motion directly synchronized with your simulator’s telemetry data.
The result? A deeply immersive motion experience that helps your body feel connected to the aircraft, vehicle, or simulator environment on screen.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q. How is the H6 different from the H2 or H3? Click to expand ▼
A. The H2 has two axes — pitch and roll. The H3 adds yaw. The H6 expands to all six degrees of freedom by adding heave, surge, and sway. This creates a fuller motion experience for flight, racing, and VR simulation.
Q. Can I use the H6 for both racing and flight? Click to expand ▼
A. Yes. The H6 is designed for hybrid use and works well for both aircraft and race vehicle simulation. You can configure different motion profiles for flight, racing, or mixed-use setups.
Q. Will it work with PlayStation and Xbox? Click to expand ▼
A. Console support depends on the game and the connection method. Consoles are closed platforms, so only select games send motion data over the network. For supported titles, a MagicBox or PC-based relay setup may be required. For the most accurate compatibility guidance, contact us before ordering if console use is your main priority.
Q. What seat should I use with this platform? Click to expand ▼
A. The H6 supports many bottom-mount car or gaming seats. For best performance, we recommend a lightweight bucket-style racing seat or a standard bottom-mount car seat with sliders. A 4-point or 6-point harness can be added for extra security, though it is optional.
Seat Mount Dimensions:
- Depth: 280 mm front to back
- Width options: 345 mm (13.37”), 375 mm (14.49”), or 405 mm (15.94”)
Q. Does the H6 support VR headsets? Click to expand ▼
A. Yes. The H6 can be used with major VR headsets including Meta Quest, HP Reverb, HTC Vive, Valve Index, and Pimax systems. For the best VR experience, use motion compensation tools to keep headset tracking aligned with the platform movement.
Q. How loud is the H6 during operation? Click to expand ▼
A. The H6 is designed for quiet operation, typically below 50 dB during normal use. The sound is closer to a soft mechanical hum than a loud industrial machine, making it suitable for many indoor simulator spaces.
Q. How difficult is assembly? Click to expand ▼
A. The platform arrives partially pre-assembled and includes the necessary hardware, basic tools, and setup instructions. Most users can complete assembly and calibration with basic hand tools, though setup time may vary depending on your seat, controls, and accessories.
Q. Does the platform come fully assembled? Click to expand ▼
A. No. For safe shipping, the unit is packed into manageable sections. Some assembly is required when it arrives. This also allows you to configure your seat, pedals, wheel, yoke, throttle, and accessories around your preferred simulator layout.
Q. Can I upgrade components later? Click to expand ▼
A. Yes. The H6 supports modular add-ons such as joystick mounts, flight accessories, cockpit accessories, tactile feedback accessories, and other simulator-specific upgrades depending on your configuration.
Q. What maintenance is required? Click to expand ▼
A. Maintenance is minimal. Keep the platform clean, inspect bolts and joints every few months, keep cables routed safely away from moving parts, and apply light lubricant to actuator shafts as recommended for heavier use.
Q. How does motion cancellation or motion compensation work with VR? Click to expand ▼
A. When the motion platform moves, your head and VR headset move with it. This can cause the headset sensors to interpret platform motion as real-world head movement. Motion compensation software helps remove the platform’s motion from the headset’s tracking so the in-game view stays stable.
For many users, simply reducing motion intensity can create a smoother experience. For more advanced setups, tools such as OpenVR Motion Compensation or other VR motion compensation methods may be used with a mounted tracker or controller.
Q. What tracking setup is recommended for VR motion compensation? Click to expand ▼
A. For base-station VR systems, users commonly mount a Vive Tracker, Valve Index Controller, or compatible tracker directly to the motion platform. For inside-out tracking systems, some users mount a controller where the headset can maintain line of sight.
The tracker should be securely mounted and isolated from vibration as much as possible. Placement varies by headset, room layout, and platform configuration.
Q. Is the H6 good for commercial or training environments? Click to expand ▼
A. Yes. The H6 is often considered by users who want a high-end simulator platform for advanced home use, training, or professional-style setups. For heavy commercial use, we recommend confirming your intended duty cycle, usage hours, and support needs before ordering.
Q. What is not included with the H6? Click to expand ▼
A. The H6 does not include the seat, steering wheel or yoke, wheel base, pedals, HOTAS/collective, button boxes, displays, PC, games, or VR headset. Those items are user-supplied so you can build the cockpit around your preferred simulator hardware.

Love it
I have had my DOF Reality H3 for several years and was very happy with it. Customer support was great when I had some questions. I had upgraded it to SFU gearboxes and never had any problems with it.
Then this year, I went to the Chicago SIM racing expo and tried out the DOF H6. Well, I ordered the H6 the same day.
The DOF H6 is very nicely built. Everything fits together perfectly. It has different hole patterns for various pedals and Wheel bases, so my stuff bolted right on. Over the years they really have refined and improved their motion simulators.
The emersion is awesome. Feels very realistic, so fun to drive. I am super happy and can highly recommend the DOF Reality H6.
Thank you. :)
The DOF Reality platform is an experience everyone should try. Initially, I viewed it as just another motion seat, but testing it in person at the Flight Sim Expo changed my perspective entirely. The immersion it offers is remarkable and goes beyond my expectations. I use the H3 platform and while primarily intended for flight simulation, I found it equally compelling for other gaming genres like Formula 1. The customer service was excellent, although international shipping times can be lengthy. Overall, I'm highly satisfied and recommend it to anyone looking to enhance their gaming immersion.
The support at DOF Reality is absolutely top-notch! My DOF Reality P3 Motion Simulator is incredible, and I use it regularly. I'm constantly tweaking and adjusting my motion rig, as well as adding and changing devices on my computer—sometimes leading to conflicts or unexpected issues.
Twice now, I’ve encountered problems with my P3 Motion Rig, and both times, the DOF Reality Support Team responded within 24 hours (despite a 9-hour time difference). Each time, they provided a solution that worked perfectly, making the troubleshooting process smooth and stress-free.
I’ve never felt frustrated or alone with this Motion Beast, and I’m incredibly grateful for the outstanding support behind this amazing simulator.
Huge thanks to the DOF Reality Team—you’re the best!
Love my H6. So damn cool for rotary!
Needs a bit of mounting, set up and care, but it is totally worth it.
