Description

DOF Reality P4 4-Axis Professional Universal Motion Simulator Platform

Professional 4-axis motion for racing, flight, training, and commercial simulator environments.

Step into the next level of immersive simulation with the DOF Reality P4 4-Axis Professional Universal Motion Simulator Platform — a 4-axis motion system engineered for users and businesses that want the realism of both racing and flight simulation in one versatile platform, with the added durability required for longer-term professional and commercial use.

With the addition of Heave, or vertical motion, the P4 delivers a more dynamic and believable experience across both ground and air simulation. It can simulate braking dive, acceleration squat, cornering load transfer, rear traction loss, road texture, curb strikes, runway vibration, turbulence, landing impact, and elevation changes.

Since 2014, DOF Reality has been advancing motion simulation for home enthusiasts, training spaces, and commercial environments with innovative mechanics and proven reliability. The P4 Professional builds on that legacy by combining full-platform motion with added flexibility for multi-discipline setups.

Designed with 4 Degrees of FreedomPitch, Roll, Yaw / Rear Traction Loss, and Heave — the P4 translates supported game telemetry into physical motion you can feel. The mounted seat and controls move together as one synchronized platform, helping keep your body, hands, and control inputs aligned during motion.

Using Sim Racing Studio (SRS) or compatible motion software, the system converts supported game telemetry into real-time feedback. This allows the platform to respond dynamically to the behavior of the vehicle or aircraft you are controlling.

The unit is tested before shipment and packaged for safe delivery in manageable sections. After assembly, install the included motion software on your PC, connect the controller via USB, and configure your controls to begin simulating.

All necessary hardware, cables, and basic tools are included for setup.

Q. How does VR motion compensation work with DOF Reality platforms? Click to expand ▼

A. DOF Reality motion simulators are compatible with major VR headsets, but combining motion simulation with VR requires a few setup considerations. When the platform moves, your head and headset move too. This can cause the headset sensors to interpret platform motion as real-world movement, slightly shifting the in-game view.

If you notice excessive camera movement or “swimming” effects, start by reducing the platform’s motion intensity in your software settings. This often provides a smoother experience.

If additional correction is needed, motion compensation software can be used. Motion compensation typically uses a tracker or controller mounted directly to the platform to remove the platform’s motion from the headset’s view.

Q. What VR systems are commonly used with motion compensation? Click to expand ▼

A. Motion compensation can work with both outside-in and inside-out tracking systems, depending on your hardware and software setup.

  • Outside-In Tracking: Valve Index, HTC Vive, Vive Pro, Pimax systems, and original Oculus Rift CV1-style tracking.
  • Inside-Out Tracking: HP Reverb/G2, Meta Quest, Oculus Rift S, Samsung Odyssey+, and Windows Mixed Reality headsets.

For base-station systems, users often mount a Vive Tracker or compatible tracker directly to the motion platform. For inside-out systems, some users mount a compatible controller to the platform where the headset cameras can see it.

Q. Are there hardware-based motion compensation methods? Click to expand ▼

A. Some VR users use hardware-based workarounds, such as mounting a sensor or controller directly to the motion platform or limiting certain headset tracking inputs. Results vary by headset, software version, and simulator setup.

For best results, use a stable tracker mounting location, reduce unnecessary vibration, and test gradually with lower motion intensity before increasing motion strength.

Q. Does it come assembled? Click to expand ▼

A. Some assembly is required upon arrival. To ensure safer delivery and easier handling, the unit is typically shipped in separate boxes. Assembly allows you to configure the platform around your own seat, controls, and simulator layout.

Q. Is a seat included? Click to expand ▼

A. No. The P4 Professional arrives as a motion platform only. Seat, racing controls, flight controls, displays, PC, simulator games, and other accessories must be supplied separately.

Q. What will I get if I order? Click to expand ▼

A. You receive the complete motion platform system with the core structural and motion components required for setup.
